I.

The walls in my room melted away

As if they never existed.

The gale force winds blew over the ocean;

I watched the water as it shifted.

Unmoving did I stand.

As I saw the Cape; the land in the shape of a hook.

Confused I looked around at the very familiar

Why did I need this look?

Why am I here I wondered?

Suddenly the voice came inside my heart.

“Watch the world from within”, he said.

“Watch as it starts”.

From far away I sensed the earth tremble

I closed my eyes to look within;

Immediately felt the sand heat from lack of water.

This I knew was where it would begin.

My heart beat strongly in my chest…

I turned to him, and screamed “no”!

Not like this, not here…

Please, tell the people they have to go”.

The angel turned away from my pleading.

I could see sadness in his eyes.

“This is what is and will be

The truth I cannot disguise."

Horror completely enveloped me,

For several moments, I could not breathe.

I watched as the wall of water rose up 20 feet high.

Why did the people not see it recede?

I screamed at him as he turned away.

“Some mercy you must have

Please spare their lives, every one

There must be a different path?

Can I not tell any soul

This - in which I have seen?”

“tell them ALL if you wish" the angel said

But they will say it is only a dream.

The Word has been around for infinity – not years

You know I speak the truth

Too many times I heard the jeers..

People always want proof.”

“You have shown me this, there must be some

Who still continue to believe?

There is always “hope" I was told

Have faith and you will be freed”

“You are free to speak of what you have seen,

To all and any that cross your path and give you grace.

As far as Mercy?  It is always there for them Kelly.

For the heart of the forgiver is forgiven  for all the human race.”

I was returned then to my room – the world back the same

My hands shook as I picked up the paper and pen.

“Oh no” I whispered to myself with sadness…

how do I get them to believe? Where do I begin?
